Recruited the CEO of a $500 million dollar industrial manufacturing company with business in the U.S., Mexico and Europe. Company is a highly competitive metals processing business supplying components to manufacturers whose end products are tied to big ticket consumer purchases. The board of this family owned business elevated the CEO to Chairman and in 2004 we recruited the President for U.S. Operations.
Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer – $2 billion leading regional retailer and wholesale distributor
Successfully recruited the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. The challenge was to find someone who could fill the shoes of the newly promoted CEO who held the position of CFO for a number of years. Since the company was in an aggressive acquisition mode this person must have had hands-on experience in acquisition and divestiture. The CFO was later promoted to EXVP and CFO with additional responsibilities. He remains with the company today.
Our initial goal was to bring in someone who had the potential to be a future contender as CEO. Our placement began as President of a smaller division and within a short number of years was elevated to President then subsequently CEO. This industry was a heavy cost-cutting, mechanical components business in a fiercely competitive industry. Today, he continues as CEO.
Senior Vice President of Operations – Aluminum Component Products Company – U.S. Subsidiary of Global Japanese Company
This U.S. subsidiary of a large Japanese company needed someone who could restore a high level of quality and stem the loss of talent at one of their key U.S. businesses. More importantly, the person would have a broad understanding of working in the management culture of a global Japanese company. The successful candidate came from one of the largest global manufacturing businesses in the world and in the first 2-3 years he achieved record goals. He was promoted to SRVP of Operations for the business shortly thereafter and remains with them today.
We successfully placed the Executive Vice President of Operations for this major consumer products company which ranked in the top three in their industry. The challenges were significant as the retiring incumbent spent his entire career in the company running the manufacturing operations. The company needed new ideas, a fresh approach to their processing and an injection of stronger discipline in the quality system. The successful candidate joined as SRVP and shortly thereafter was elevated to EXVP. He was the first African-American EXVP and the highest ranking minority in the corporation.
This was a classical win-win situation for both parties – the incoming executive and the corporation which eventually spun off the business to a larger company. Our successful candidate joined the client as Vice President & General Manager of an $800 million operation which was later acquired by a larger global European company. He grew the newly combined businesses through internal growth and acquisition. Today, he is President of a multi-billion dollar U.S. Operation.
